Recycling & Surplus

The Harvard Recycling & Surplus Center in Allston is back open and now on Facebook. Promote campus reuse by donating items from your office or home and browse what’s in stock (either in-person or through their weekly Facebook posts). The Surplus Center typically has furniture, household items, books, appliances, and more (recent treasures include bouldering pads and a piano!), and it’s all free. Reusing is one of the most effective ways to help the environment as it prevents landfill waste, saves energy and materials used in making new products, and contributes to a circular economy. The Recycling and Surplus Center is located at 28 Travis Street and open on Thursdays from 10am to 1pm.
